Disney will homeport its new cruise ship, the Disney Believe, at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, the company announced. The ship makes its first sailing in December 2027.

The vessel will offer four-night and five-night trips to the Bahamas and other Caribbean islands. Disney said the ship takes its inspiration from Disney characters who believe in themselves.

The deployment is part of a 15-year agreement between Disney and Port Everglades aimed at growing tourism in the region. For South Florida residents, the port’s expanding cruise lineup means more sailings, more visitors and more activity for the Fort Lauderdale waterfront.
