Floodwaters from last week’s heavy rain are still sitting in parts of Broward County, disrupting businesses, limiting access to shopping centers and forcing schools to close temporarily, Local 10 News reported.

In Davie, much of the parking lot at a shopping center along West State Road 84 remains underwater. Drivers have fewer spots and some are parking closer to the storefronts. Shopper Robert Carreras said the lot has looked that way for three days, but he still has to reach one of the businesses for work.

American Heritage Schools temporarily closed Wednesday while crews pumped water from the campus. Local 10’s Sky 10 helicopter also flew over flooded streets near Northeast High School in Oakland Park, showing how the rain has affected nearby neighborhoods.

Residents and business owners are waiting for the water to recede. The report did not say when the flooding is expected to fully clear.
