Brysen Wright, a five-star wide receiver at Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, announced Thursday that he will play college football at Miami. The commitment gives coach Mario Cristobal another highly rated offensive prospect in the Hurricanes’ 2028 recruiting class. Wright chose Miami over Florida and Texas.
According to 247Sports, Wright ranks third nationally, first among receivers and first among Florida players in the 2028 class. He earned MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honors after catching 46 passes for 983 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also recorded 55 tackles, five interceptions and five pass breakups on defense, and was named NFL FLAG Player of the Year after helping Jaguars Elite win a national championship.
As a freshman, Wright caught 31 passes for 646 yards and eight touchdowns. He was named MVP of the FBU Freshman All-American Bowl in December.
The commitment is the latest in a run of recruiting wins for Miami. Earlier this year, the Hurricanes landed four-star athlete A’mir Sears, ESPN’s top uncommitted prospect in the 2027 class, who is expected to play cornerback. Wright is the fifth Florida player among the 14 SC Next 300 prospects committed to Miami, joining Sears, receiver Nick Lennear, offensive tackle Sean Tatum and athlete Demarcus Deroche.
