American Heritage Schools hosted its sixth annual “Thanksgiving Meal in a Bag” food drive Saturday morning in Plantation.
Students, faculty and local families donated reusable grocery bags filled with traditional Thanksgiving staples and gift cards. All collected items went to Feeding South Florida, a hunger-relief organization.
Angelica Goldberg of American Heritage Schools said the effort aims to ease the rising cost of living for families who need help during the holidays. She thanked the volunteers and the students who came out to take part.
The school’s 2025 food drive collected more than 15,000 pounds of food, which provided holiday meals for more than 1,000 families.
