Miramar will hold its State of the City Address on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Universal Technical Institute, 2601 SW 145th Ave. The city’s Facebook and Instagram account said Mayor Wayne Messam will host the event.

Residents can register in advance at MiramarSOTC.eventbrite.com.

The announcement came alongside a city update on the Miramar Police Department. The department has put ForceMetrics into use, giving officers faster access to key records and call history when they respond to calls. Police also earned CALEA reaffirmation and kept full CFA accreditation with Excelsior Status, the Commission’s highest recognition, the city said.

City officials framed the police milestones as part of a broader push on officer safety, professional standards, accountability and service to residents.
