Miramar residents can meet local police and neighbors at a Community Conversations on Safety event on Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the City of Miramar Commission Chambers, 2300 Civic Center Place. The city’s Vice Mayor and the Miramar Police Department are hosting the session.

The agenda covers crime prevention, personal and neighborhood safety, holiday safety tips and scams. Organizers said attendees can also learn about home and vehicle security and the resources the police department offers to residents.

The evening will include a toy drive that benefits children in Venezuela, Colombia and Jamaica. Residents who plan to attend can register online through the MiramarCommunityConversations.eventbrite.com page, which the city lists in its Instagram bio.
