The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team wrapped up its season Friday night with a 43-0 loss to Coral Glades. The Eagles finished 2-8 after winning their first game of the year, a 55-6 victory over Coral Springs High School in their second contest.

MSD lost six straight games after that opener, though several were close. The Eagles fell by one point to Forest Hill High School before beating J.P. Taravella in the second-to-last regular-season game for their second win.

Anthony Diaz led the offense with five rushing touchdowns and four receiving scores, and he topped the team in total yards. Chase Pavlish started at quarterback, then moved to wide receiver for the final few games. Kicker Audrey Haltiwanger, the program’s second female kicker, led the team in extra points, including a career-high three against Coral Springs.

On defense, the Eagles intercepted four passes, two of them by Liam Haber. The team will graduate 14 seniors, including Diaz’s teammates Keegan Lake, Travis Willis, Johnny Debs and Juan Toro. The Eagles now turn to the offseason.
