Passengers aboard Margaritaville at Sea Paradise returned to the Port of Palm Beach on Wednesday afternoon, one day later than scheduled, after unfavorable weather delayed the trip.
On Monday, the port announced it would close Tuesday because of the weather, which pushed back the cruise’s return. Guests spent the extra day docked in Nassau, where they received free Wi-Fi and drink passes at no added cost.
Reactions were mixed. One first-time cruiser said the extension was fine, and praised the drink pass. Another passenger, Donna Monroe, said she had been eager to get off the ship and said the free Wi-Fi did not work when she tried to schedule activities. Some travelers said the perks did not offset the cost of changing flights, paying for another day of parking and missing work.
A spokesperson for Margaritaville at Sea said the company understood the delay disrupted travel plans and thanked guests for their patience. The company said weather and port closures are beyond its control, and that the safety of guests and crew remains its top priority.
Passengers said they were relieved to be back on land safely.
