Runners, walkers and wellness fans will gather at Lynn University in Boca Raton on Sunday, Oct. 25, for the second annual Power of Sports 5K + Wellness Social. The fundraiser benefits Bigger Than Sports, a Boca Raton nonprofit.
All proceeds go toward Palm Beach County student-athletes planning for life after high school sports. The group was founded by Lynn University student Ian Waite and places mentors inside high school athletic departments to help athletes plan for college, a trade or a career.
Registration and packet pick-up begin at 7:30 a.m., and the race starts at 9 a.m. at the university, 3601 N. Military Trail. The $45 entry fee includes a race shirt, finisher medal, bib and timing chip, plus access to the social afterward.
The Wellness Social will offer cold plunges, saunas, massages, yoga, stretching and Normatec recovery stations. Organizers also plan puppies, food trucks and local vendors. The event goes on rain or shine. Registration is open online at runsignup.com.
