SUV driver hurt after crashing into school bus in Davie

A 50-year-old man was taken to HCA Florida University Hospital after his SUV rear-ended a Broward County Public Schools bus in Davie on Friday morning. Officials said his injuries are not life-threatening.

The crash happened near Griffin Road and Southwest 82nd Avenue. Officials said the man was driving a blue Honda SUV. Two students were riding the bus at the time, and neither was hurt.

Eastbound traffic on Griffin Road near the intersection was temporarily closed while crews worked the scene. Officials said the road was expected to reopen shortly.

Drivers heading through the area should expect delays until the lanes are clear. No cause for the crash was given in the initial reports.
