Hallandale Beach Boulevard will be closed in both directions at a railroad crossing near Dixie Highway from 6 p.m. Saturday until 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, city officials said. The closure is for scheduled repairs at the Florida East Coast Railway crossing.

During the closure, eastbound and westbound vehicles cannot cross the tracks, and pedestrian access across the crossing is restricted. Officials said businesses and properties near the crossing should remain reachable.

Drivers are being directed to alternate railroad crossings at Northwest Third Street, Southwest Third Street and Southwest 11th Street, all near Dixie Highway. Other east-west options include Pembroke Road, Hollywood Boulevard, Ives Dairy Road and the William Lehman Causeway.

Officials warned that traffic on nearby roads will likely be heavier than usual, especially during morning and evening commutes. Drivers should follow detour signs, leave extra time and watch for crews in the work zone.

The Florida Department of Transportation and Florida East Coast Railway are coordinating the work. The schedule could shift because of weather or construction progress. Residents can check cohb.org or Hallandale Beach Police Department channels for updates.
