Marjory Stoneman Douglas senior Eleni Andreadakis has verbally committed to play soccer at Saint Michael’s College, the Parkland Talk reported. The defender said she was proud of the decision, which came shortly after a knee injury that she feared would sideline her for a long stretch.
Andreadakis said she recovered quickly, and the Saint Michael’s coach saw her play and offered her a spot on the team. She started playing at age four, stepped away for competitive gymnastics, and returned to the field at seven after watching her older sister.
She has played travel soccer for several clubs, including Parkland Soccer Club, Sunrise Sting, Sunrise Surf and Team Boca. Last season she was a key defender for the Eagles, who won nine games. MSD allowed 26 goals in 18 games, won its eighth straight District Championship and took its opening Regionals game.
Her first game of the season was postponed. The Eagles are scheduled to face Monarch High School on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 6 p.m.
