The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County will open its first solo exhibition of the 2026-2027 season with a reception on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. The show features West Palm Beach artist Bogdan Kravchenko and runs through Saturday, Dec. 5.

The exhibit includes 21 oil paintings of varying sizes. Kravchenko’s work focuses on the coastal landscape, with subjects such as lifeguard towers, clouds, skies and flat shoreline scenes. He blends contemporary minimalism with space abstraction and uses translucent stripes of color to add structure to the canvases.

Kravchenko, who was born in Ukraine, studied at the Kyiv Academy of Art. He later worked in advertising and design. Jessica Ransom, the council’s director of artist services, curated the show. She described the paintings as a quiet, meditative experience for visitors as the council reopens its galleries this fall.

The work was chosen from a competitive application process. Kravchenko is one of six Palm Beach County professional artists selected for a solo spot this season.

The exhibit is in the Gayle and Paul Gross Gallery inside the historic Robert M. Montgomery, Jr. Building at 601 Lake Avenue in Lake Worth Beach. The galleries are open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m., and admission is free. The council said Saturday hours will be announced later on its website.
