Downtown Hollywood will host a free Halloween festival on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., the City of Hollywood said in an Instagram post. The city describes it as South Florida’s premier Halloween festival.

Organizers promise costume sightings, live music and DJs, drink specials and more than $10,000 in costume contest prizes. Admission is free.

Drivers should plan ahead for parking. The city listed four garages and lots charging a $15 flat rate during the event: Van Buren Garage at 251 S. 20th Ave., Radius Garage at 251 N. 19th Ave., University Station Garage at 2031 Polk St. and the Taylor Street Lot at 1810 Taylor St., one block north of ArtsPark.

On-street parking is 50 percent off during October, at $1.50 per hour. For free parking, the city is running a shuttle from City Hall Circle at 2600 Hollywood Boulevard to Downtown from 5 p.m. until midnight.
