Darryl Kogan, a Boca Raton attorney and former partner in the Kogan and DiSalvo law firm, is apparently cooperating with federal prosecutors after an FBI undercover operation, according to a proffer filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. BocaNewsNow.com obtained the document.

Court filings say an undercover FBI agent began chatting with Kogan on Feb. 18, 2026, posing as a 16-year-old girl on the Kik Messenger app. According to the filing, Kogan, 68, sent the agent an image of his genitals and asked for sexually explicit photos. The agent was an adult male federal officer.

The FBI executed a search warrant at Kogan’s Boca Raton home on May 21, 2026, according to the filing. Kogan waived his Miranda rights and told agents he had set up multiple Kik accounts and deleted them to create new ones.

BocaNewsNow.com first reported the raid earlier this year. Kogan left the firm, which later rebranded, and moved to California. He is no longer allowed to practice law in Florida.

It is not yet clear what sentence or terms the plea agreement may include. The proffer is a preliminary step in which a defendant provides information to prosecutors.
