A Wilton Manors man says he is still shaken after he was attacked while walking his two dogs late Saturday night. The assault happened at Northeast 19th Street and Wilton Drive.
The victim, Gianni Kahlo, said the attack happened so quickly that he never saw his attacker’s face. He said he heard a noise, started to turn, and then saw a hand in front of him. He grabbed the hand, pushed it away and ran. He said the assailant never said a word, while he shouted at the man to ask what he was doing.
Kahlo suffered serious cuts to his neck and hands that required five stitches. He works as a cosmetologist in a barber shop and recently started his own business, and he said his fingers and neck hurt when he moves them.
Wilton Manors detectives were seen canvassing the area as they work to identify the person responsible. Kahlo said he had always felt safe in the neighborhood, but he now plans to move and says he is afraid to leave his home.
Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
