A verbal confrontation between political campaigners at a Tamarac polling site on Nov. 1 led to an alleged gun threat, according to a Broward Sheriff’s Office report. Deputies were called to the area at 8601 W. Commercial Blvd. around 5:30 p.m.

Deputies said one person made threatening statements and retrieved an object believed to be a firearm from a nearby vehicle. The victim told deputies she feared for her life, and a witness backed up her account. The Violent Crimes Unit detectives responded to investigate.

The report covers incidents from Oct. 27 through Nov. 2 across Tamarac. Other entries include a knife-point aggravated assault on Oct. 28, a domestic battery involving two siblings on Nov. 1 and several thefts at local businesses. In one case, a Tamarac resident reported receiving a photo of a firearm and magazine tied to an eviction dispute, though the sender’s message contained no explicit threat. Deputies advised that resident to limit contact with the sender.

The polling-site incident comes as residents head to the polls in the final stretch of the election season, and it is one of the few cases in the log that involved a public voting location. No arrests were listed for that incident in the bulletin.
