The 12th annual Pie It Forward Thanksgiving fundraiser is underway to benefit Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches, which delivers meals to homebound seniors and veterans in the area.
Maura Sartory, the nonprofit’s special events director, said residents order a pie online and pick it up at one of the group’s designated locations. The pies are made by “Pie Masters,” local chefs and bakers who donate their time and talent.
Bank of America is the presenting sponsor for the event, marking its 12th year participating, according to Stephanie Deltondo, a local market executive for the bank in Palm Beach County. Deltondo said the event combines community support with a fun way to give back.
Sartory said people can get pie details and place orders through the Meals on Wheels website or by contacting the organization directly.
