Nine Palm Beach County schools will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 4, as the School District of Palm Beach County keeps watching flooding and weather conditions across the county. The district said the campuses will be closed to students, staff, visitors and lessees because of local conditions affecting the schools.
The closed schools are Egret Lake Elementary, Grassy Waters Elementary, Loxahatchee Groves Elementary, Seminole Trails Elementary and Washington Elementary. Bear Lakes Middle and Jeaga Middle are also closed, along with Palm Beach Lakes Community High and West Boca Raton Community High.
All other district-operated schools are expected to open Wednesday. Student absences caused by flooding or weather will be fully excused.
Families should also plan for possible bus delays. The district is asking parents who can drive their children to school this week to do so. Bus riders can follow their route in real time with the district’s free Here Comes the Bus app.
The district said student and staff safety remains its top priority as it monitors localized flooding affecting several communities.
