A crash on the northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike in Davie left a motorcycle severely damaged on the highway Saturday morning. The collision happened near Griffin Road.
A witness told WSVN that a motorcycle was riding to the left of a BMW when a rider swerved at the last moment, struck the back of the car and knocked the bike onto its side. The witness said the rider and the driver pulled over right away.
WSVN cameras showed the damaged motorcycle lying beneath a white vehicle while investigators worked the scene.
As of Saturday morning, the cause of the crash had not been determined. WSVN said it had asked the Florida Highway Patrol for more information. Drivers heading north through Davie should expect possible delays while the scene is cleared.
