Fans heading to loanDepot park for the Nov. 14-15 Choque de Gigantes series will find a lineup of Venezuelan food and drinks, according to the Miami Marlins. The series pits Navegantes del Magallanes against Tiburones de La Guaira.
At The Change Up, located in Section 1 on the Promenade Level, Doggi’s Arepa Bar will serve tequeños and several arepas, along with a cheeseburger and crispy fries. La Arepera by P.A.N. in Section 18 offers hot dogs, arepas, tequeños and empanadas. BeisBowl in Section 19 serves a Pabellón Bowl with shredded beef, rice, beans and plantains.
Two signature cocktails are named for the clubs. El Tiburón combines vodka, blue curaçao, pineapple and lime, and La Nave mixes aged rum, cola, passion fruit and lime. Passion fruit guarapitas will be sold at several bars in the ballpark.
Part of the proceeds from a commemorative cup will support relief and recovery efforts in Venezuela through Global Empowerment Mission and the We Love Venezuela Foundation. The Marlins, both clubs and the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional are also collecting donations through a supply drive and an auction of signed jerseys and bats.
On Saturday, Nov. 14, a Happy Hour at the Budweiser Bar in center field offers $5 12-ounce packaged Polar beer from 5:30 p.m. until the 7 p.m. first pitch. Students can buy $5 tickets for that game. On Sunday, Nov. 15, a $44 Family Pack includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four non-alcoholic drinks and four popcorns. The Sunday game starts at 1 p.m.
