Rockstar Games released a new batch of screenshots Thursday, Nov. 5, showing more of Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida ahead of the game’s Nov. 19 release. One character has drawn особенно attention from South Florida fans, and it is not hard to see why.
Fans on Reddit pointed to a bird tattoo between the character’s eyebrows, a chain with an “1800” reference and a hairstyle and face tattoos that resemble Kodak Black. Some hip-hop outlets have gone further and called him an official character. The reporting, however, does not settle what role he would play.
Rockstar’s announcement does not name him or explain any part he might have. The character could be a cameo, have dialogue or be someone players interact with, and there is no sign yet that he will be playable. Kodak’s music was also heard in the game’s extended preview, which adds to the speculation.
The screenshots include other details that local players will recognize. The nightclub called the Vault appears to be Vice City’s version of Club Space, and one arena shot resembles the Kaseya Center in Miami. A cup held by the character reads “Jack of Hearts,” which may be a nod to King of Diamonds.
For now, the resemblance is strong, but Rockstar has not confirmed a casting. The game’s release on Nov. 19 should answer the questions.
