Families filled the Margate Fall Festival this week for an evening of food, music and children’s activities. The event was held at the Sports Complex, where the Shane Duncan Band performed under the roof.

Food trucks and stands lined the grounds. Visitors could find inflatables, a hay play area, pony rides, a haunted house and a series of contests for children. A T-Rex exhibit featured a lifelike dinosaur set in a jungle scene. The Monarch High School baseball team ran a booth and offered a raffle.

Miguel Dorante attended with his wife and four children. “There was plenty of food and activities for the children,” he said.

City Manager Cale Curtis said the weather cooperated and the food was strong. “This was a great event,” he said. Commissioner Tommy Ruzzano said the crowd was big and that he loves events like this.

Shane Duncan, of Coral Springs, said the band played country songs to match the fall theme. “We all had a good time, and I liked playing for this audience,” he said.
