Community and business leaders gathered at Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday for the 2026 Red Gala, a fundraiser benefiting Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
The event aims to fund medical breakthroughs for children in need and to make sure families have a strong medical team during their hardest moments, according to organizers.
Shane Strum, CEO of Memorial Healthcare System, said doctors, nurses and clinicians across the system are changing lives every day and that giving back and helping kids is the priority.
7News anchor Olivia Diventi served as emcee. She said her twins were born six weeks early after she was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia, and that her family has seen firsthand what skilled doctors can do.
The gala raised more than $3 million in 2025, the most recent year reported.
