The City of Hollywood is preparing for its Hispanic Heritage Festival at ArtsPark at Young Circle on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 3 to 9 p.m. Admission is free, and the city promises music and dancing.
Officials are urging visitors to plan their parking ahead of time. Three downtown garages charge a flat rate of $15 from 2 to 8 p.m.: Van Buren Garage at 251 S. 20th Ave., Radius Garage at 251 N. 19th Ave. and University Station Garage at 2031 Polk St. The city said all three are within walking distance of the festival. The Taylor Street Lot at 1810 Taylor Street is reserved for performers.
Drivers who prefer street parking can get 50 percent off on-street meters all month long, east and west of 21st Avenue. The city said spots in Downtown Hollywood will fill quickly, so it recommends arriving early. Motorists should read posted signs and park only in designated public spaces.
