South Florida faces a blustery stretch starting Sunday night and continuing through Monday, according to WPBF 25 News. Scattered rain is expected to move quickly from northeast to southwest, with winds out of the northeast at 20 to 30 mph and higher gusts possible.

Astronomically high tides could cause coastal flooding Sunday evening and again Monday morning. Lows will fall to the low to mid 70s under mostly cloudy skies.

Monday looks worse for beaches and boaters. Forecasters said gusts could reach near 40 mph, and waves of 10 to 15 feet are possible along the coast, with some reaching 18 to 19 feet. Conditions are described as dangerous for beachgoers and boat operators. Highs will reach the low 80s, and rain is possible at times throughout the day.

Residents near the water should expect flooding on roads and low-lying areas during the high tide cycles, and anyone planning time on the ocean should check conditions before heading out.
