A Golden Glades sign attached to a tower has fallen onto the road near the exit of the Park & Ride in Northwest Miami-Dade. The collapse was reported near the 16000 block of Northwest Seventh Avenue.
Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies and other law enforcement agencies responded to the downed sign and blocked nearby streets. WSVN’s aerial unit, 7Skyforce, flew over the scene.
Authorities believe strong winds blowing across the area knocked the tower down, according to WSVN reporter Ralph Rayburn. The source did not say whether anyone was hurt or when the streets would reopen.
Drivers who use Northwest Seventh Avenue near the Golden Glades interchange should expect delays and consider alternate routes until crews clear the roadway. WSVN said it will update the story as more information becomes available.
