Police are searching for the driver of a black car that fatally struck a 35-year-old woman on West Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale on Oct. 21. Witnesses called 911 just after 8 p.m. after the woman, Dominique Greene, was hit near a Popeyes in the 1300 block.

Greene had been visiting family nearby when a driver seemingly did not stop after the crash, according to her father, Darell Gordon. Bystanders rushed to help and called for police, but Greene died at the scene. She was the mother of a 4-year-old son and a daughter.

Gordon told 7News he was shocked that the driver kept going. “There wasn’t even an attempt to even have a conscience about it,” he said.

Greene’s family plans to gather in Fort Lauderdale on Friday to hand out flyers about the case. As of that time, they had not received word on the driver.

Anyone with information can call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
