Cosa Duci Italian Bakery & Deli in Boca Raton is hosting a Halloween pet costume party Saturday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event, called Paws for a Cause, will raise money for Animal Aid, Inc., a local animal rescue nonprofit.
Owner Silvia Fausto organized the afternoon, which will include a costume contest with several categories, including Most Italian Pet, Funniest Costume, Best Overall and Best Pet & Owner Duo. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m. and will receive gift baskets, gift certificates and pet treats.
Guests can also pose at a photo spot with their pets, pick up treats for animals and buy Italian food from the bakery’s menu. Animal Aid representatives will be on hand to talk about rescue, adoption and ways to help local pets.
All proceeds from the event will go to Animal Aid, which has been rescuing and caring for animals since 1996. The group also promotes responsible pet ownership and adoption.
Residents are invited to bring their pets in their most creative Halloween costumes.
