Curbside recycling is back in Coconut Creek, the city said in an Instagram post on Wednesday. Eligible households can place three types of materials in their recycling carts: aluminum and steel cans, plastic bottles and jugs, and corrugated cardboard.

The plastic category includes water bottles, beverage bottles and detergent containers. Cardboard includes shipping boxes.

The city asks residents to rinse bottles, jugs and cans before recycling them, and to flatten cardboard boxes. Officials said recycling the right items helps the program run smoothly.

Residents can find details on participation, accepted items and how to prepare recyclables at CoconutCreek.gov/recycle.
