A Delray Beach man has built what he calls the biggest haunted house of his life in his front yard, and he is letting the public walk through it for free this Halloween season.

Joshua Kreppel said he has been decorating for Christmas and Halloween since he was a kid, and this year’s display is his largest. He said he plans to go bigger next year.

Kreppel said he enjoys the crowds most. He described watching visitors get startled and seeing neighbors greet each other, shake hands and hug in front of his house.

Visitors said the maze was more elaborate than they expected from a home setup. One attendee called it “scary fun,” and another said it was hard to imagine such a display in someone’s front yard.

Kreppel stressed that there is no charge to enter. He closed with a simple greeting for the season: “Happy Halloween.”
