The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation is looking for volunteers and runners for its second annual Race for Education 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek.
The race starts at 7 a.m. at 3600 W. Sample Road. Proceeds will pay for classroom materials, educational resources and other enhancements for students and teachers at local elementary, middle and high schools. The foundation also runs a micro-grant program that funds innovative classroom projects.
Amera presents the event, and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is a supporter. Volunteers can help with tasks ranging from assisting runners to supporting event operations, and they can earn community service hours.
The 3.1-mile course is open to competitive runners, families and recreational walkers of all ages. Registration is $40 for adults 18 and older and $30 for participants under 18. Online registration stays open until 7:20 a.m. on race day.
People interested in volunteering or running can find sign-up links on the Coral Springs Talk article’s source page.
