Boca Raton’s City Redevelopment Agency and City Council will hold public meetings Monday and Tuesday covering downtown development, a proposed transfer of Mizner Park property to the city, and funding for a new police headquarters.

The council may decide whether to place a $125 million bond referendum on the March 9, 2027, ballot. If approved by the council, voters would decide whether the city can issue the bonds to pay for a new police headquarters and related public safety facilities.

Both bodies will consider changes tied to the Downtown Plan and CRA-owned property, including Mizner Park. The proposals would keep existing leases, agreements and restrictions in place. Members will also weigh a Downtown Plan amendment meant to bring more long-term stability to how those properties are owned and managed.

Other items on the agenda include a proposal at 101 East Palmetto Park Road to convert second-floor retail space to offices and add a restaurant, courtyard and seating. That plan would cut required parking from 52 spaces to 25. The council will also review an amendment to the site plan for The Bertani at Broken Sound, an 11-acre property at 5901 and 6001 Northwest Broken Sound Parkway. It calls for an eight-story building with 60 apartments, 10 percent of them affordable.

Council members will consider clarifying how building height rules apply in single-family neighborhoods and appoint James L. Zervis as interim city manager.

Meetings are held at the 6500 Building and can be watched online through the city’s agenda page. Full agendas are posted on the city’s website.
