Deerfield Beach is handing out free fruit trees at its annual Fall Fruit Tree Giveaway on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to noon at Johnie McKeithen Park. The city said the event is at the park’s NW 1st Terrace entrance.
The trees come in 3- to 5-gallon containers. Available varieties include mango, Guava ‘Ruby Supreme,’ Barbados cherry, longan and jaboticaba.
The trees are free for Deerfield Beach single-family homeowners, and each household may take one tree. Distribution is first-come, first-served while supplies last. Residents must show proof of residency, and no advance registration is needed.
