The City of Boca Raton has started a six-month, community-led planning process to study how Memorial Park, in Downtown Boca, can better serve residents. The city said the effort will look at existing conditions, explore future possibilities and gather public input for a long-term vision for the area.

The park is home to City Hall, community centers, athletic fields, the Tennis Center and other public amenities. Chen Moore & Associates, a firm selected by the City Council, will manage the process.

Residents, business owners and other stakeholders can take part through small-group discussions, stakeholder meetings, a public survey and community events. The city said no plans or outcomes have been decided in advance. Recommendations will go to the City Council for consideration.

Public input sessions are open to everyone. One is a design charette at The Studio at Mizner Park, 201 W. Plaza Real. People who cannot attend a session can visit the city’s Memorial Park information table at one of the scheduled events. The city also has a Memorial Park web page where residents can learn more or submit questions.

Memorial Park is one of several projects under Boca Forward, the city’s umbrella identity for its major plans and priorities.
