South Florida PBS has opened Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall at the Cornelia T. Bailey Cultural Arts Center, 3401 South Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach. The exhibit runs through Jan. 24, 2027, and tickets are available at SouthFloridaPBS.org/becomingjane.
The exhibit opens just over a year after Goodall’s death and celebrates her research on chimpanzees and her broader work as a conservationist. One gallery is designed to resemble Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park, where Goodall studied chimpanzees, with forest projections and recorded sounds of the park.
Visitors can also step inside a recreation of Goodall’s research tent, learn about chimpanzee behavior and communication, and see a life-size holographic projection of Goodall telling stories from her life.
The National Geographic Society developed the exhibit with the Jane Goodall Institute USA. It has won an American Alliance of Museums Excellence in Exhibition Award and a Thea Award for outstanding exhibit design. The show is open to visitors of all ages.
