North Miami police have arrested a third person in connection with an armed home invasion robbery in July that targeted a paralyzed man at his apartment. Investigators are also looking to file human trafficking charges.

Marianne Rocio Davila Luna, 26, was arrested Thursday on charges of human trafficking involving coercion for commercial sex, living off prostitution proceeds and battery, according to jail records. Earlier arrests included Brandon Marquez Flint, 32, and Jamarcus Malcolm Brooks, 27, in connection with the July 9 robbery.

Police said the men planned to steal drugs and cash from the man, who was living in a rented home. Police said he is paralyzed from the waist down and uses a motorized scooter. According to an arrest report, Brooks entered the apartment with a handgun, demanded money and marijuana, forced the victim off his scooter, tied his hands behind his back and dragged him into a bedroom. Investigators said about $2,000 was taken.

Investigators said messages link Flint to planning the robbery and that the suspects coordinated shortly before it happened. Police said a fourth man allegedly carried out the armed robbery, though the source does not say whether he has been charged.

North Miami police also received a notice on Sept. 18 from the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office human trafficking task force saying the victim had also been reported as a trafficking victim within North Miami.

As of Friday, Davila Luna and Brooks were held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, and Flint was held at the Metrowest Detention Center. Bond amounts had not been set.
