Two people were taken to a hospital after a crash in Miami Beach set a car on fire Friday morning. Rescue crews put out the flames at 67th Street and Indian Creek Drive, where Miami Beach police and fire rescue units responded just after 8:30 a.m.
Investigators said an elderly driver veered into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle. That car then burst into flames. Cellphone video captured firefighters knocking down the blaze.
Paramedics transported both victims to an area hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening, according to rescue officials.
Morning traffic was disrupted in the area while first responders battled the fire and cleared the scene. The source report did not say whether the driver was cited or what caused the vehicle to leave its lane.
