Fort Lauderdale’s holiday season kicks off Thursday, Nov. 5, with Light Up Lauderdale at Esplanade Park, 400 SW 2nd St. The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The city’s Light Up the Holidays season is also bringing back Olas, the sandy snowman that serves as its mascot. The city said Olas is returning soon, and it asked residents to name their favorite Olas in the comments of its Instagram post.
