Garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk trash collection will go on as usual for unincorporated Palm Beach County on Wednesday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County said its disposal facilities will be open and haulers will run their regular routes.
Residents should set out garbage, recyclables and yard waste curbside by 6 a.m. SWA administrative offices will be closed, but a small customer service team will take questions about collection. Residents can call 561-697-2700.
The authority’s seven Home Chemical & Recycling Centers are also open on the holiday for residential drop-off. They are self-serve only on holidays, so staff will not pour out gasoline or return empty containers at the two regularly staffed sites in West Palm Beach and western Delray Beach. The centers do not accept business waste.
Residents of the county’s 39 municipalities should check with their own city, town or village for holiday pickup times, since the authority handles collection only in unincorporated areas. Unincorporated residents can check their schedules with the authority’s “My Service Collection Days” tool online.
