Miami police say Deziree Hood used dates and nights out at a Miami strip club to get close to men, then walked away with their jewelry, cash and other valuables. Police call the pattern “robbery by seduction.”
Detectives say Hood stole two gold chains worth about $110,000 from a man she met at Booby Trap on the River in August. Weeks later, investigators say, she returned to the club and went home with another man. He woke up to find he had been robbed. Police put the total from that incident at $25,400 in jewelry, apparel and U.S. currency.
Hood is also linked to a case Local 10 reported in May. Prosecutors said she may have drugged a man at the Candlewood Suites in Miami and stole tens of thousands of dollars in jewelry and a $14,000 Rolex. Investigators also say she took $60,000 in valuables from another man in Brickell days later.
A background check found that Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested her last year after she agreed to accept $120 for sex acts from an undercover detective.
Hood was on bond when the newer crimes occurred, police said. She turned herself in to Miami police with help from her lawyer and is now held on a second-degree grand theft charge. As of Thursday evening, she was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where her bond was listed as “to be set.” A judge had ordered her to stay away from the Booby Trap on the River, 1651 Southwest 13th Avenue.
