Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill acknowledged in court Thursday that he pushed his estranged wife, Keeta Vaccaro, into a wall during an argument, leaving a hole. The admission came as Hill testified in the couple’s contentious civil divorce trial.
Vaccaro has accused Hill of physically and emotionally abusing her and is seeking monetary damages. She is asking the jury to find Hill liable for intentional infliction of emotional distress and several counts of battery. Hill has denied the allegations.
Vaccaro’s attorneys say the couple married in 2023 and that within a month Hill began pressuring her to sign a postnuptial agreement, on the advice of his advisers. They say his behavior became “explosive, aggressive and violent” when she refused.
On the stand, Hill disputed that account and blamed financial disagreements for tension in the marriage. He said he gave Vaccaro $15,000, but claimed she was taking about $60,000 a month. He also said the couple agreed to counseling and that he plays football for his eight children.
Earlier, Vaccaro’s mother, Alicia Vaccaro, testified that she never saw Hill strike her daughter. She said she intervened when she saw Hill pressed against Keeta near the couple’s newborn, and that he pushed her back. Jurors also heard audio from a baby monitor captured during another argument.
A forensic psychologist testified that she diagnosed Vaccaro with post-traumatic stress disorder. The defense questioned her qualifications and noted she was hired for the case and paid nearly $6,000. The civil trial resumes Friday.
