The City of Deerfield Beach Teen Center and Paving the Way Foundation will host a Teen and Parent Tech Talk on Friday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Deerfield Beach Teen Center, 1345 SW 11th Way.

The session, titled “Real Risks. Real Conversations. A Safer Tomorrow,” is aimed at families with teens ages 14 to 18. Organizers say it will cover how popular games and apps can expose young people to online grooming and exploitation.

Parents will also learn how to spot warning signs and how to start open conversations with their children about what they see online.

Residents can register through the city’s online recreation catalog. The post did not list a cost for the event.
