Deerfield Beach is giving away free fruit trees this Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to noon at Johnie McKeithen Park. The city’s annual fall giveaway is held at the park’s NW 1st Terrace entrance.
The city is offering trees in 3- to 5-gallon containers. Varieties include mango, guava ‘Ruby Supreme,’ Barbados cherry, longan and jaboticaba.
The trees are free for Deerfield Beach single-family homeowners, and each household may take one. Distribution is first-come, first-served while supplies last. Residents must bring proof of residency. No advance registration is required.
