Coral Gables police arrested a Miami woman Wednesday in connection with a Sept. 5 crash that injured another driver. Police identified the suspect as Eneyda Leticia Silva-Saballos, 41, according to an arrest report.

The crash happened around 2:09 p.m. near Valencia Street and Segovia Street. Surveillance video showed Silva-Saballos driving a gray Audi Q5 through a red light and striking another vehicle, police said. She was driving with two minors inside. After the collision, she got out and fled on foot with the children, leaving the SUV behind.

Investigators used surveillance footage, witness statements, cellphone records and evidence from the vehicle to identify her. A pawn shop receipt found inside the Audi helped them locate her address, the report said.

The other driver suffered multiple injuries, including damage to knee ligaments and a spine injury. She told investigators she still has knee pain and a dislocated or herniated disc, and she has undergone several medical appointments and procedures.

Detectives spotted Silva-Saballos leaving her apartment at about 7:56 a.m. Wednesday and arrested her after she got into a silver Toyota Corolla. She asked for an attorney after being read her Miranda rights, according to the report. She was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a charge of leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious bodily injury. As of Thursday morning, she remained in custody there on that charge and on an immigration hold.
