A 37-year-old Margate man was arrested October 24 after police said he threatened to shoot people inside a Little Caesars restaurant at 277 South State Road 7. Kevin Marcel Derilus faces a charge of disorderly intoxication, according to a Margate Police Department arrest report.

Records show an officer responded to a 911 call about a customer causing a disturbance and threatening to kill and shoot people inside. When officers arrived, they reported seeing a shirtless Derilus run from the store and head north on State Road 7 on foot.

The officer followed him to a plaza across the street and took him into custody. While being handcuffed, Derilus allegedly said he had yelled at people inside the restaurant and wanted to kill them so they would be scared.

The officer reported a strong smell of alcohol and slurred speech. Derilus allegedly told the officer he was drunk because it was his birthday weekend.

Derilus was taken to the Broward County Main Jail. His bond was set at $150.
