Village of Pinecrest police Capt. Edison Cruz will ride a bicycle for 24 hours on Nov. 14, 2026, to raise money and awareness for Renacer en la Fe, Misión Miami FL, a ministry of Iglesia Congregación Sacerdotal Internacional.

The ride starts at 8 a.m. at West Kendale Lakes Park, 6400 Kendale Lakes Drive, and ends at the same spot at 8 a.m. on Nov. 15. Cruz plans to cover about 350 miles on the 4-mile bike path that runs alongside the Miccosukee Golf Course. The event is organized under the theme “One Purpose. Faith. Service. Impact.”

“I ride for something greater than myself. I ride for them,” Cruz said.

Donations go to the congregation’s effort to build a church home in Miami, a place the group says it does not yet have. The congregation, a religious entity organized in Colombia in 2014, describes itself as a community of independent Catholics focused on prayer, spiritual guidance and service to people in need.

Donations are being collected through a GoFundMe page. Supporters can follow the ride on Facebook and Instagram. Sponsors include 88 Cycling, Small Time Movers and LOOK, and organizers said they are still seeking additional sponsors.
