The City of Pompano Beach says work on the McNab Road Streetscape and Bridge Replacement Project is moving forward, but the corridor has not reopened yet. Heavy rain has pushed back the schedule.

According to the city, the bridge foundation work is finished, and the bridge superstructure and concrete deck are substantially complete. Underground water, wastewater and stormwater drainage improvements are also done, along with new sidewalks and pedestrian upgrades. Landscaping, irrigation and decorative LED lighting are underway.

Next, the contractor will focus on the bridge approaches, roadway connections, landscaping, lighting and final paving before the road can reopen. The city said rain has fallen on more than 60% of days since May, slowing earthwork and concrete work.

To make up time, the city is working with the contractor and its engineering consultant on possible evening and weekend work, weather permitting. The city said it will try to limit new disruptions to nearby residents and businesses. No new reopening date was given in the post.
