South Florida PBS in Boynton Beach held a ribbon-cutting this week for “Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall,” an interactive exhibit that opened to the public on Oct. 23 and runs through January.
Created by National Geographic and the Jane Goodall Institute, the exhibit takes visitors into the forests of Gombe, Tanzania, where Goodall changed how scientists understand chimpanzees and human behavior. Visitors can walk through a replica of her research tent, watch a hologram-style projection of Goodall sharing memories and life lessons, and explore 3D landscapes of Gombe Stream National Park.
Goodall died last year. The organizers say the exhibit is meant to carry forward her legacy of advocacy and her love of nature.
Tickets are $45 for general admission, $38 for seniors, students, military and first responders, and $22 for children under 12. The museum sells tickets through its website, southfloridapbs.org. The center is at 3401 S. Congress Ave.
