A Palm Beach County grand jury has indicted a man accused in the fatal shooting of West Palm Beach minister Akeem Moore, according to State Attorney Alexcia Cox.

Hugh Earp Milner Jr. faces charges of first-degree murder with a firearm, attempted second-degree murder with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and shooting into an occupied vehicle. The indictment was announced in a statement from Cox’s office.

The charges stem from a Sept. 27 shooting. West Palm Beach police said Milner allegedly fired shots at Moore’s vehicle while Moore and another person were inside. Moore was killed.

In her statement, Cox described Moore as a young man who served his community through his ministry and music. She said the indictment is an important step toward seeking justice for him and his loved ones.

The case will be handled by the Homicide Unit of the State Attorney’s Office for Palm Beach County.
